Let me share a very funny story. A couple of months ago, I experienced constant nausea and headache. I just got married a month before that, so those who saw me nauseating, assumed that I was pregnant. Although I was convincing them that I wasn’t, that it was probably because of the constant travels I was in for the past several weeks, and that I was currently on pills, they still insisted that I was pregnant. One day, I called in sick, and I told my officemate that I will be having a check-up that day. That made their belief that I was expecting even stronger.

My younger sister called me in my office that day. My officemates told her that I was absent and that I was pregnant. My sister got excited right away, since this is the first pregnancy in the family, and so she started calling our relatives and friends and she told them about my supposed pregnancy.

I was just surprised to arrive home one day, finding several cards that congratulate me for my pregnancy. Some even sent me gifts. There were some infant sleepers, stuffed toys, and some even sent me girls pajamas! More than assuming that I am pregnant, they also assumed that I will have a baby girl.

I then posted in my twitter account a disclaimer that I wasn’t pregnant. But, I said thank you for all the gifts, and that I have no plans of giving them back.
